Why Mōri exists and what we're here to do.
It started personally.
Like most things worth building, Mōri didn’t begin with a business plan. It began with a feeling — that something was missing.
A desire to feel better. To have more energy without the anxiety. To take care of skin and body in a way that felt intentional, not overwhelming. To build a morning that felt like it belonged to us.
Nothing felt right.
We tried what was out there. Protein powders with ingredient lists a paragraph long. Collagen supplements that tasted like nothing — or worse, like something trying too hard to taste like something. Wellness products that felt clinical, cold, disconnected from any real sense of ritual or beauty.
Then came matcha.
Not as a trend. As a practice.
There’s something about the way matcha has been woven into Japanese culture for centuries that stopped us. It was never just a drink. It was a moment of stillness in a moving day. A gesture of care toward yourself. A ritual that asked you to slow down long enough to be present.
We became a little obsessed — with the culture, the craft, the ceremony behind it.
So we built it
Mōri was created at the intersection of three things we couldn’t stop thinking about: the grounding ritual of Japanese matcha culture, the science of functional wellness ingredients, and a deep frustration with products that chose between working well and feeling beautiful.
We didn’t think you should have to choose.
Our first blend — Ceremonial Japanese Matcha with Marine Collagen, Tremella, and Coconut Milk — was formulated to do something real. Clean energy. Skin hydration from within. Digestive support. Adaptogenic balance. One scoop, one ritual, one small act of care that compounds over time.
Every ingredient was chosen with intention. Nothing unnecessary. Nothing performative.
What MŌRI means.
Mōri (森) means forest in Japanese — a nod to the natural world, to stillness, to something that grows slowly and lasts.
It’s also how we think about wellness. Not a quick fix. Not a dramatic overhaul. A quiet, consistent practice rooted in nature — that over time, becomes part of who you are.
